If the appellant is in an unknown location or abroad, his or her appeal will, as a rule, be rejected. This means that the UDI’s decision will be upheld. RB-01 describes the rules and procedures for considering asylum cases in which the appellant is in an unknown location or abroad. It also describes UNE’s decision modes and procedures that apply in cases when an appellant resurfaces after the case has been decided.
